Everything to know before booking your Lip Blush session with Ella Beauty: treatment details, studio policies, and our client agreement.
The Treatment
Lip Blush is a natural lip stain using a tattoo machine to accentuate the lips and help create more definition. This technique lasts 1–3 years. Note that this is a natural lip stain and does not replace lipstick.
It's a subtle technique suitable for anyone who has lost definition of the vermilion border due to ageing, smoking, lip fillers, or who simply has paler lips and would like the colour restored. It's also an alternative to lip fillers, as the stimulation increases collagen in the skin, which can make lips appear more plump.
Healing time is around 6 days, with results settling over about 6 weeks. The initial treatment takes about 2–3 hours. A perfecting touch-up session takes about 60 minutes to 2 hours.
Your Appointment
Arriving on time
If you are more than 10 minutes late to an appointment, you may not be seen and booking fees will not be refunded. Parking around Buckley Street can be busy, especially around school hours.
Children & guests
Children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the room due to WHS law. We also don't allow friends or family in the room during your treatment, as this can cause distractions for our technician. Please don't bring your child, as unfortunately we'll be forced to cancel your appointment and the booking fee will be forfeited.
Booking, Cancellations & No-Shows
Booking fee
A non-refundable $200 booking fee (accepted via debit or credit card) is required to secure your appointment. For any service that doesn't exceed $200, a 50% booking fee is required instead.
Cancellations
If you don't give us 48 hours' notice of cancellation, your booking fee will be forfeited. If no booking fee was placed, you'll be required to pay a 50% cancellation fee before being able to book again.
No-shows
If you don't show up to your appointment and no attempt is made to contact us, we will charge up to 50% of the booking price. No exceptions.
Right to refuse treatment
We reserve the right to refuse treatment for any reason.
Health & Medical
Medication
If you are using Roaccutane, Retin-A, photo-sensitising antibiotics (e.g. Doxycycline), high doses of anti-inflammatory medicine, or topical medical creams, please be aware we may not be able to treat you for some time afterwards. Some antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs interact adversely with tattooing. Please inform us before your treatment date, as your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
Pregnancy & breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, we will unfortunately need to cancel your treatment. We can either reschedule or refund your booking fee. If you are breastfeeding, you need to be able to pump and dump two feeds straight after treatment, due to anaesthetics present in the milk.
Anxiety about this treatment
If you experience any nervous or anxiety disorders, please consider carefully whether this treatment is right for you, as the full process takes around 6 weeks to complete, and the wait can feel anxious, as results aren't perfected until after the touch-up heals. Pricing & Payments
Prices are subject to change at any time. Please view current pricing on our Services & Pricing page or booking system. All new clients are treated as a new tattoo, even if you've had previous work done by another technician.
Cash is preferred, however card and EFTPOS facilities are available for your convenience.
Aftercare & Touch-Ups
Aftercare
We provide tattoo aftercare cream, applied to the treated area after your session. Your artist will also thoroughly go through all aftercare advice with you on the day of your appointment.
6–8 week adjustment
Whether a touch-up is needed depends on how your individual skin heals. Every case is different, and this service is not free of charge, so please check current touch-up pricing. Lip Neutralization most often requires two sessions to reach the desired result. If a touch-up is needed, it's generally done up to 6–8 weeks after your initial appointment.
Maintenance session
After your initial touch-up, a maintenance session can be booked. Please refer to our pricing page for current cost. Please be aware we will not perform a maintenance session earlier than one year after your initial treatment, in order to protect your overall skin health. Everyone's skin takes pigment differently, so this timing helps us deliver the best long-term result.
Client Agreement
When booking an appointment with Ella Beauty, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- General Agreement
- You acknowledge and understand the nature and extent of the cosmetic tattooing procedures provided, and agree to adhere to all pre- and post-care instructions provided by your technician.
- Scheduling
- It is your responsibility to ensure timely arrival to your treatment session. You agree to arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete necessary paperwork.
- If you attend your scheduled session more than 15 minutes late, you agree to forfeit your appointment as well as your paid booking fee.
- Risks and Complications
- You acknowledge the potential risks and complications associated with cosmetic tattooing, including but not limited to infection, allergic reactions, scarring, and dissatisfaction with the cosmetic outcome. Final results may vary based on individual skin type and condition.
- You hold Ella Beauty harmless against any adverse effects or outcomes resulting from the procedure.
- Medical Conditions and Medications
- The use of Roaccutane, Retin-A, photo-sensitising antibiotics (e.g. Doxycycline), high doses of anti-inflammatory medication, or topical medical creams will adversely affect your tattooing process.
- You hold Ella Beauty harmless against any adverse effects or outcomes resulting from the procedure.
- Disclosure of Medical Conditions
- It is your duty to disclose all relevant medical conditions and medications to your technician, including the likelihood of pregnancy at the time of treatment.
- Certain medications and conditions may contraindicate the procedure or affect the outcome, and you are advised to seek medical clearance if necessary.
- No Guarantees
- While Ella Beauty strives to achieve the best possible results, individual outcomes may vary and cannot be guaranteed.
- Further touch-up/maintenance sessions may be required to achieve the desired result at an additional cost. Whether a touch-up is needed depends on individual healing, and your technician will advise you accordingly.
- Post-Treatment Care
- You agree to follow all post-treatment care instructions provided by your technician to ensure proper healing and optimal results.
- Failure to adhere to these instructions and product recommendations may affect the outcome and longevity of your treatment.
- Cancellation and Refund Policy
- You are aware of the booking fee, cancellation, and refund policies as outlined above. Failure to comply with these policies may result in forfeiture of fees paid.
- You must notify Ella Beauty with a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours' notice if you require rescheduling of a treatment session. Failing to provide timely notice will result in forfeiture of your booking fee.
- Rescheduling of your service is at the discretion of Ella Beauty, exercised on a case-by-case basis.
- Limitation of Liability
- You release, discharge, and hold harmless Ella Beauty, its owner, employees, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, or legal actions arising from or connected in any way with your cosmetic tattooing procedure, including but not limited to any claim for negligence, breach of contract, or breach of warranty.
- Ella Beauty shall not be liable to you for any loss, damage, costs, or expenses incurred or suffered as a result of any breach of these terms, unless the same were in the reasonable contemplation of both parties at the time of entering this agreement.
- Force Majeure
- Ella Beauty shall not be held liable for any failure to perform its obligations under this agreement due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to war, civil disturbances, natural disasters, severe weather conditions, or other acts of God.
- Right to Refuse Treatment
- Ella Beauty reserves the right to refuse treatment for any reason deemed appropriate by the technician or management.
